Props research and formal list

Props is one the most important they help with the story line to help the audience understand what is going on. However some people get confused with what a prop it and what the background is so to make it clear a prop is an object that the actors use in a scene for example a pipe, or a newspaper. the scenery or setting is the background used in the scene and what it needs to include.
In the picture below you can see a walking stick this would be a prop as it is being used by a actor. If you look at the netting then the netting is in the scenery and is not a prop


So we new what props we were using and also who uses them a formal list was created this list is created when making any type of production. It is used as a type of checklist so that nothing is forgotten.
