The film pitch and evaluation

As part of our preparation for our film our production team Regium had to pitch our film to the rest of our media class and also our teacher and his companions. We had to say what the film will be called ( Fatal Envy), the basic plot of what is going to happen, location, clothing, the characters background, the protagonist and antagonist, our production teams name and why we chose it , target audience and much more. It had to be carefully thought about and presented.

Here is a video of the pitch;

To support our pitch we created a presentation, the presentation gave the people a better understanding of what the location would look like as we had a picture of the old garage we was going to use and also the street and house,  it also helped the people to know what was going to be explained next.

Hear is our presentation;

  1. Add a cutaway going from the protagonist to the garage to make the audience aware that the garage means something that it is important it would  help build tension to the opening and would also bring a bit of life, as lets be honest just watching and following a person jogging  down the street would become a bit boring

  2. Give a reason for the protagonist to stop as a young man walking than just sitting down to take a drink isn't very realistic also it may look to the audience like he walking to his death. So to concur this mild stone members of our class pitched some ideas these were that Malcolm could have some earphones in meaning he wouldn't be able to hear Rachel following him or another idea was that Malcolm's show lace could come undone and so he sits down to retie them.

  3. We could take a look at the Kevin Bacon movie Marathon to find to ideas and inspiration for the storyline and cutaway.

Evaluation Feedback;

The feedback we received from our class and our teacher were very useful and made us think a lot about how we were going to film our film to get the best from it, it also made us think of changing previous ideas so that the audience can understand better what is going on in the film as we found the previous ideas could become a bit confusing. The ideas we chose to change were,
To have one protagonist instead of two so it would be more clear to the audience who is the victim. Also instead of the protagonist walking down the street then sitting down for no reason we could have the protagonist jogging down the street this would give him a reason to sit down as he will need to rest and take a drink.

In my next post I will talk about recording on location and ADR.
