Storyboard research

Once the script is written for a film or animation. The next step is to make a storyboard. But what exactly is a storyboard? well a story board visually tells the story of a film/Animation step by step. It is in a way kind of like a comic strip. A story board should convey things such like

  • What characters are in a frame and how are they moving
  • Dialogue
  • How much time has passed between the last frame and the current frame
  • Camera moments
By creating a storyboard it will help plan out your film/animation shot take by shot take. It will also allow you to make changes to see that everything is perfect before you begin your film/animation.

Here is a video if you still need further information of what a storyboard is.

Below is an example of a film storyboard from Thunder ball a 1965 film

This is how the scene from the storyboard ended up on the actual film.

Now time for our storyboard for our film Fatal Envy

We planned, we researched, we argued but after many hours spent deciding on our final plan we eventually all came together so that our story board was the best we could make it and was also exactly how we wanted it and this is the final result.
PS excuse the stick men.

In my next post I will talk about Animatic research and Our films Animatic
